After finishing off a tour opening for The Beastie Boys, Peanut Butter Wolf made a rare NYC appearence at APT, a lounge that has been making a name for themselves getting top producers and DJs to spin there regularly. There was a large crowd to catch the Stones Throw founder and I was a little surprised to see that PBW was spinning with Serato. I guess it has just become the standard for club gigs but you just associate certain people with only using vinyl and he was definitely one of them. Still, the sets were compelete and polished and incorporated a lot of break beats and instrumentals. PBW didn’t spin much Stones Throw music during the part of his set I caught, he may have broke into that later in the night. Still, a solid party and chance to catch an important figure in the underground rap scene.
