Last Sunday, the Internet’s top radio station brought the sounds of their show to the stage as they presented the East Village Radio Festival, an eclectic mix of newbies, legends, blog-hype, and more.

Personally, the highlight of the day long show at South Street Seaport was finally catchign Flying Lotus live.  After more than a year’s worth of failed attempts to catch him either at Cake Shop or Nublu, the chance finally came and it was worth the wait.  His live sets are just as entertaining as his albums and the complexity of his music gauged all in attendance.  Reset got priase on here a ways back and FlyLo is still coming strong with new music.

Perhaps the most entertaining part of the day was Devin the Dude, doing his thing and doing it hard.  Watching the faces of parents in the crowd with their children was pretty priceless.

KRS-One, the host of the festival also got his time to shine, filling in the time slot that was reserved for no-show Mark Ronson who was celebrating his birthday overseas.  KRS-One’s live show never gets old and is one of the few emcees who you don’t mind listening to what he has to say on the world, politics, and social issues.

Lots of respect to EVR and everyone who put together an incredible free event.  More pictures from the show inside… evrfest1
