Flying Lotus A No-Show, Common Might Show

7.18.2007

I was hoping to have a review and some pictures today from the Flying Lotus show at Cake Shop last night but he never showed up.  If he had some sort of emergency come up last minute I certainly understand but otherwise the whole situation was handled very poorly and completely unprofessional by himself and his booking/management company. Flying Lotus was billed as the last performer of the night and at 11:50 (right before the last opener’s set finished) somebody came on stage and said “Steven won’t be able to make it,” and just like that he was a no-show.  No explanation, nothing…pretty disappointing.

While Flying Lotus may have not shown up, I’ve been told that Common will be showing up tonight at S.O.B.’s for the Talib Kweli/Who’s Next Semi-Finals.  We’ll see what happens…
