Duck Down Presents A Tribute To Classics
7.15.2008Albums In Their Entirety Live; A New Trend? That post discussed how performing classic albums straight through is becoming the new live trend at shows and festivals. Duck Down
is stealing the spotlight this year when they present a tribute to classics at Knitting Factory on 09.26.08. This one time, very special show will feature Black Moon performing Enta Da Stage and Smif N Wessun performing Da Shinin with a live band. BCC members perform on a weekly basis around the city and often show up at random shows to make cameos. However, for this one night, two of the most influential underground hip-hop records of the 90’s will be performed in their entirety, sure to please the cult of Duck Down fans. Is it safe to say that this may be the New York hip-hop show of the year?? Tickets are $15, get them before this is sold out, you know it will.

For those that don’t know Boot Camp is one of the best groups that’s been out since the early 90’s. As a full group they are ridiculous, as individual groups they are great, as solo artists they are good. Def. go to this show and watch out for the new heltah skeltah album dropping soon.
Do you think Jay-Z performing Reasonable Doubt at radio city started this classic album trend?
When is the new Heltah Skeltah dropping?
i paid $350 for a ticket to jayz at radio city from a scalper. was worth it. he did the album perfect
Def Buddah, Jay def started the trend in the hip-hop game, but I’m guessing Classic rock groups like The Doors, Grateful Dead, Alman Brothers, etc. all went that route. If you make a classic cd why not perform it. For Heltah Skeltah, it’s called D.I.R.T. and is scheduled to be released September 2nd. Also, check out GZA performing Liquid Swords at The Fillmore Sept 12th- that should be dope as well.
jay did NOT start this trend
if hov didnt start this then who did? he is the first person i can think of who had a big show based on performing music from one album.
