Duffy @ The Apollo Theater
4.10.2008Following her sold out NYC debut show at Hiro Ballroom, Duffy is coming back to New York to play The Apollo Theater on 05.12.08. Taking into consideration that her album still hasn’t been released in stores it feels a bit early to be selling her in that sized space for $45 a ticket. I got an import copy of Rockferry and while ‘Mercy’ is real good single to sell her on the rest of the album is kind of lacking and I haven’t listened to it since. Tickets for her Apollo show go on-sale this Saturday (04.12) at 10:00 AM.
Well - guess what? Duffy all but sold the place out and if you missed it - your loss. Maybe the best soul performance at the Apollo in 20 years. Duffy is real, polished, and headed to the top.
This show was worth $100 per ticket, and she will be commanding it in the blink of an eye.
