“You’re so gay and you don’t even like boys.”  That’s the chorus to the first single ‘Ur So Gay’ by Cali’s Katy Perry.  I’ve really been feeling that song and it clicks right on so many different levels.  Her style and voice is a bit different than some of the music posted on here but any hip-hop head can appreciate the production behind the song.  The lyrics are hilarious and brilliant at the same time and her voice gives you the tingles you used to get from those hot mid 90’s pop-rock singers.  Perry is signed to Capitol Records and is scheduled to release an album later this year.  She has several other tracks you can stream on her myspace where she also debuted the video for ‘Ur So Gay.’  Katy Perry plays Mercury Lounge on 04.24.08 with The Little Ones opening.  Tickets are $10; show starts at 9:30 PM.
