2008 was is turning out to be the year for Daptone Record’s Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. With the way this year is shaping up, 2009 may be the year that Menahan Street Band finally gets the exposure they deserve. Not everyone may know the name at the moment but almost everyone knows their song ‘Make the Road by Walking’ which Jay-Z sampled earlier this year on ‘Roc Boys.’ The group returns to Brooklyn on 10.17.08 for another performance at Southpaw. The Phenomenal Handclap Band opens the show. Tickets are $14, 18+.
