Time Out New York’s Summer Music Sayonara
8.29.2008Time Out New York already had scheduled the Summer Music Sayonara for tonight
(08.29.08) with Oneida and Endless Boogie. However, the show just got a whole lot more interesting as they just announced that the special guest will be none other than Raphael Saadiq. Saadiq will be releasing his next album on 09.16, The Way I See It. Expect real big things from this album…the way Amy Winehouse blew up the female soul-revival last year could will be the same for Saadiq this year. Not that he is by any means a newcomer to the scene but this record has big big things coming. I’ve heard several cuts from the album including, ‘Keep Marching’ and Raphael Saadiq sounds like a bold mixture of Frankie Lymon with an early 60’s Motown touch. Incredible. Show starts at 7:00 PM at South Street Seaport and is free.
