I got an import of the Sam Sparro record Black & Gold a month or two ago and was really impressed with the album as a whole.  Sam has a unique style that sounds inspired by a mixture of Jamiroquai and electrosoul.  The album was just released in the U.S. last week and now Sam will be performing his first NYC show that I have got word of.  On 08.05.08 Sam Sparro will perform at Santos Party House, a venue I’ve never heard of until now.  Located at 100 Lafayette in Manhattan, the club according to their website is “a two-level, 8,000 sq. foot music venue, centrally located in downtown New York City, straddling Chinatown and Tribeca. Blurring the lines between music and art culture, the venue is designed to function as a concert hall, dance club, and lounge.”  Sounds cool.  Tickets are $15, doors open at 7:00 PM.
